Vertu Extends Support For Leicester Riders

Award-winning automotive retailer Vertu has reaffirmed its support for Leicester Riders ahead of the 2026/27 Super League Basketball season, extending a partnership with one of the most successful basketball teams in the UK.

Vertu first joined forces with the oldest and most historic club in British basketball in 2022, with Vertu Toyota Leicester, located on Welford Road just two miles from the Club’s home and Vertu Toyota Loughborough, supplying a fleet of vehicles as part of a multi-year partnership.

Vertu branding has also featured on the team’s shorts in recent seasons and around the Mattioli Arena, with Vertu supporting the club's activities both on and off the court as it seeks to grow the sport across the East Midlands.

The partnership renewal will see Vertu Toyota Leicester provide the team with six new Toyota C-HR vehicles for use throughout the season as the Riders look to build on their Super League Basketball Playoff Final success in 2024/25.

Leicester Riders is the oldest club in British basketball and one of the sport's most successful teams, having won 20 major honours during the British Basketball League era, including a record-equalling three titles in a row between 2015 and 2018.

It means the Riders sit second on the all-time list of championship winners, and second in terms of total competition wins.

Chris Taylor, Group Operations Director at Vertu, commented: “We are delighted to extend our support for Leicester Riders as we look to build on the valued relationship we have developed in recent years.

“We are proud to work with the Riders as they continue to challenge at the highest level of British Basketball while playing a key role in the local community, particularly through their efforts to introduce young people from Leicester, Loughborough and the wider East Midlands to the sport.

“We wish the team the very best heading into the new Super League Basketball season.”

Kevin Routledge, Chairman of Leicester Riders, said: “We are thrilled to extend our partnership with Vertu as we prepare for the start of another exciting Super League Basketball season, which will see the sport continue to grow with the introduction of a tenth team in Liverpool.

“Working with a respected national brand like Vertu helps us continue growing the game locally through our Foundation, our community initiatives and the activities we deliver at the Mattioli Arena.

“We look forward to more success both on and off the court alongside Vertu during the season ahead.”
