Vertu Ford Drives Support For Newcastle Eagles Community Foundation
Vertu has strengthened its support for the Eagles Community Foundation after hosting a second successful Drive 4 UR Community event in partnership with Ford at the Vertu Arena.
The Drive 4 UR Community programme is a national scheme launched by Ford to help local dealerships support community organisations, with donations being made for each test drive that takes place during an event.
Building on the success of last year's event, which helped support the Foundation's mission to increase participation in grassroots basketball across the North East, Vertu Ford Newcastle once again joined forces with the charity for a special family fun day at the Vertu Arena.
Located just minutes from the venue on Scotswood Road, the dealership brought a selection of the latest Ford models for visitors to test drive, with every test drive helping to generate funding for the Foundation's community programmes.
Alongside the test drives, fans and families had the chance to enjoy a range of basketball-themed activities and giveaways that were designed to showcase the Foundation’s work, whilst visitors were also able to meet players from both the men’s and women’s teams ahead of the new season.
More than 40 test drives were completed during the event, raising more than £1,200 to support the Foundation as it continues to invest in programmes designed to use basketball to support people from across the region.
