Vertu Motors has renewed its partnership with the most successful British basketball team of all time – Serios Group Newcastle Eagles – as they prepare for the new season, which, for the first time, includes European competition.

The North East based motor retailer has helped keep the team on the move for almost 10 years, with a number of brand-new Honda Civic cars from their Vertu Honda Newcastle dealership.

The brand’s support extends further into developing future generations of basketball players by sponsoring teams of young players participating in one of the Eagles Community Foundation’s outreach programmes.

In a further tie-in, Vertu Motors proudly has its name on the Vertu Motors Arena, which is owned by the award-winning charity foundation.

“We are also proud to have our name on the Arena, which is a standout landmark in the city, visited not only by sports fans but businesses and local people as a community venue.”

Chad Ridley, General Manager at Vertu Honda Newcastle, said: “The Eagles are one of the region’s most successful sports teams. Its great to see colleagues and players drive our iconic fleet of Honda cars from Vertu Honda Newcastle.

“We are really pleased to work with the Club and its associated charity in different ways to support the team, the development of young players and the excellent work that goes on in the local community.”

Paul Blake, Managing Director of the Serios Group Newcastle Eagles, said: “We are delighted to continue our fantastic partnership with Vertu Motors and its Vertu Honda Newcastle dealership.

“It is a relationship that has grown and prospered over a number of years, as have both organisations, and to be playing European North Basketball League fixtures at the Vertu Motors Arena is a dream come true.”
