Vertu Skoda Derby Introduces New Rental Service

Vertu Skoda Derby Introduces New Rental Service

Vertu has opened its latest Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) Rent-A-Car operation in a move that expands its rental offering in a growing sector of the automotive market.

Rent-A-Car Derby will operate from Vertu Skoda Derby and sits alongside further rental sites at Volkswagen dealerships in Huddersfield, Nottingham and Leeds, the latter of which opened earlier this year.

The introduction of a rental service at the site on Sir Frank Whittle Way comes as the rental market in the UK continues to grow, driven in part by increased demand for flexible motoring solutions for people who have elected against outright car ownership.

It will also cater for those looking to access a vehicle on a short-term basis for purposes such as a family holiday or business trip, including those that involve overseas travel.

Visitors to Rent-A-Car Derby will be able to choose from a range of Skoda vehicles that includes the city-friendly Fabia, the award-winning Superb Estate and the all-electric Enyaq, with the rental fleet selected to cater for a wide range of different needs.

Customers will be able to hire vehicles through a simple booking process, and will benefit from the knowledge and expertise of the experienced team in place at the dealership.

Mark Hart, Rental Manager at Vertu Skoda Derby, said: “We’re delighted to introduce the VWFS Rent-A-Car service to the dealership, and to provide our customers with even more choice when it comes to their mobility solutions.

“There are numerous reasons why someone may need to rent a car, such as a weekend trip away, their own car being off the road, or wanting to experience the latest Skoda models prior to making a purchase.

“This new service is perfect for people from across Derby and the wider area who are looking for short-term vehicle solutions and we’re excited to be able to now offer it to customers old and new.”

Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu, said: “The addition of Derby to our network of VWFS Rent-A-Car sites helps to expand our rental offering, and will allow us to offer greater flexibility to customers across the region.

“The industry is seeing an increasing number of people who are looking to access vehicles on a short-term basis, and this is a further example of our commitment to ensuring that we can fully support our customers with all of their motoring requirements.”
