Vertu Toyota Chesterfield Backs Grassroots Cricket With Eckington Cricket Club

Vertu Toyota Chesterfield has teamed up with Eckington Cricket Club in a partnership aimed at strengthening grassroots cricket through the Toyota Good for Cricket Prize Draw.

The collaboration will see the dealership support a club at the heart of its local community, providing opportunities for players of all ages through junior development pathways, women’s, girls and senior league cricket.

Eckington Cricket Club fields multiple teams across local competitions and plays an important role in introducing new players to the game while helping others progress.

A key element of the partnership is the Toyota Good for Cricket Prize Draw, which offers supporters the chance to win a range of prizes while directly funding the club’s grassroots activity.

Every ticket sold generates income for Eckington Cricket Club, helping to cover the cost of equipment, coaching, facilities and initiatives designed to encourage more people to take up cricket.

The Toyota initiative is part of a wider national programme to support grassroots cricket, helping clubs become more accessible and sustainable whilst also engaging supporters and bringing communities together.

Supporters can take part by purchasing tickets via the dealership and club’s social media or searching for the club on the Toyota Good for Cricket website, with funds going straight back into the club to sustain and grow participation at all levels.

Alex Boot, Sales Manager at Vertu Toyota Chesterfield, said: “Eckington Cricket Club plays a vital role in giving people the chance to get involved in sport, whether that’s young players picking up a bat for the first time or experienced cricketers continuing to compete locally.

“As a dealership, we are proud to support a club that has such an important role to play in the local community and the raffle is a simple way people to make a real difference, as every ticket contributes directly to keeping those opportunities available.”

Matt Tagg from Eckington Cricket Club said: “This kind of support gives us the ability to invest where it matters most, in our players and our future.

“The prize draw is a fantastic initiative because it allows people to contribute directly to the club in a way that is both easy and rewarding.”
