Vertu's Hereford Dealerships Support Mayor's Peak Challenge
Vertu Hereford Volkswagen, Vertu Volkswagen Van Centre Hereford, and Vertu Hereford Audi have once again shown support for the Hereford Mayor’s Peak Challenge.
This year’s event raised vital funds for Malvern Special Families, a charity that provides inclusive play and social opportunities for children and young people with disabilities.
The annual challenge invited walkers to take on the rolling landscape of the Malvern Hills, choosing between a 9km route or a more demanding 18km trek.
As part of its sponsorship, Vertu Motors’ Hereford dealerships supplied the official event T-shirts worn by all participants. The support ensured that a greater proportion of funds raised can directly benefit Malvern Special Families.
Malvern Special Families provides high-quality, inclusive activities and play schemes for children and young people with disabilities across the region. Its work offers families essential respite, specialist support, and a safe environment for children to thrive.
Andrew Dent, General Manager at Vertu Audi Hereford, said: “Supporting the Mayor’s Peaks Challenge is something we are incredibly proud to do. Malvern Special Families provides vital support to children, young people, and their families, and the positive impact of their work is felt widely throughout the community.
“Sponsoring the event helped ensure that as much of the fundraising as possible goes directly to the charity’s essential services.”
Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu, said: “Strengthening our ties with the communities we serve is central to our values at Vertu. The Mayor’s Peaks Challenge is a brilliant example of how local people come together to support those who need it most.
“We’re delighted to have played our part in enabling the event to thrive, and in raising awareness of Malvern Special Families and the extraordinary work they do.”
The Right Worshipful the Mayor of Hereford, Cllr Dan Powell, said: “The Peaks Challenge is a highlight of our local calendar, and I’m thrilled to see the support once again from Vertu Hereford dealerships.
“The company’s generosity in sponsoring the event T-shirts is instrumental in ensuring more of the funds raised go directly to the charity. Malvern Special Families is an organisation that makes a tremendous difference in the lives of young people with disabilities and their families, and this year’s Challenge helped to shine a light on their invaluable work.”
