Macklin Motors Launches Helmet Design Competition For Scottish Racing Driver

Macklin Motors has launched an exciting competition inviting talented individuals from all walks of life to design a helmet for up and coming racing driver Ronan Pearson.

As the proud partner of the Bristol Street Motors with EXCELR8 driver, Macklin Motors aims to engage the creative community and motorsport enthusiasts in an inspiring design challenge.

The winning helmet design will be unveiled on the 12 August at Knockhill racing circuit in front of an audience of thousands of fans and prominent members of the press. The event holds special significance, as Ronan Pearson was born and raised close to the track, making it his ‘home turf’.

To ensure broad participation and attract diverse design ideas, the competition has been extended to several design schools across Scotland. However, Macklin Motors is keen to emphasise that individuals of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to enter the competition, fostering an inclusive environment for budding designers to showcase their talent.

In an exciting collaboration to promote the competition, Macklin Motors has enlisted the support of two prominent Scottish personalities: Callum Beattie, a celebrated singer-songwriter, and Abbie Blyth, a fashion and lifestyle social media influencer. On Friday, 23rd June 2023, Callum and Abbie will join forces with Ronan at the Royal Highland Show to generate buzz and enthusiasm for this unique opportunity.

Callum Beattie's artistic prowess extends beyond music, as he has been involved in the design of his album covers for years, adding a visual dimension to his creative expression. Abbie Blyth, known for her partnerships in fashion and engaging social media presence, brings her expertise as a former professional makeup artist to the competition. Both Callum and Abbie are delighted to support and celebrate this exceptional design opportunity.

Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Macklin Motors, said: "The Macklin Motors helmet design competition presents an incredible platform for designers across Scotland and beyond to unleash their creativity and leave an indelible mark on the world of motorsport.

"We are proud to back Ronan Pearson and it will be very special to unveil the winning design at Knockhill, a place that holds special significance for Ronan and his racing career."
