Bristol Street Motors Announces Continued Support For Newcastle Theatre Royal
Bristol Street Motors, which is based in Gateshead and operates five dealerships in and around Newcastle, is continuing its backing for the city’s Theatre Royal to support the iconic venue’s extensive on and off stage programme of work.
Following a successful year-long association between the two well-known local organisations, which aimed to raise awareness of Newcastle Theatre Royal’s high calibre performances amongst new and existing audiences, the partnership has been extended for a further year.
Over the last 12 months, a range of hybrid and electric vehicles have been parked on the terrace outside the theatre’s portico, to highlight upcoming performances. The current Ford Kuga ST Line X Plug-In Hybrid on show, promoting the smash-hit musical The Bodyguard, represents Bristol Street Motors’ not too distant Morpeth Ford dealership, in addition to the new flagship Newcastle Ford dealership Bristol Street Motors is set to open later this year on Scotswood Road.
In the coming months, Bristol Street Motors will relocate its Newcastle Vauxhall dealership to the City’s Stamfordham Road; the brand is currently renovating the previously owned Reg Vardy site by the Westerhope Interchange.
Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Bristol Street Motors, said: “We have been proud to work with Newcastle Theatre Royal to further cement its position as the leading cultural venue in the City.
“Many colleagues have enjoyed fabulous shows over the last year and I am certain that both the theatre and ourselves have benefitted from the partnership.”

Newcastle Theatre Royal is one of only nine Grade I listed theatres in the country. Holding a reputation as one of the finest venues in the UK, the Theatre Royal ensures it is a key date in the touring calendar, bringing world class musicals, drama, dance, ballet, comedy and opera performances to the North East region.
Marianne Locatori, Chief Executive of Newcastle Theatre Royal, said: “Bristol Street Motors has been a significant supporter of Newcastle Theatre Royal and we look forward to building on the successful partnership in the coming year.
“As a registered charity that receives no regular funding, local business support like this is vital to enable us to continue to present world class performances on our stage, entertaining hundreds of thousands of people from across the North East, as well as deliver our creative engagement work across our local communities.”
