Mansfield Technician Named Finalist In Prestigious Hyundai 'Skills Olympics'

Jake Taylor, a technician at Vertu Hyundai Mansfield has been named one of the UK’s best Expert and Master Technicians, after securing a top five place in the 2025 Hyundai UK Skills Olympics final.

The national competition, which took place at Hyundai Academy, High Wycombe, tested the knowledge, innovation and problem-solving abilities of Hyundai’s finest aftersales professionals.

The winner of the two-day contest goes on to represent the UK at the World Skills Olympics in Korea.

Jake just missed out on qualifying for the international round, coming in a respectable fifth position. His achievement is part of a triple success for Vertu, with three of its technicians also reaching this year’s final.

Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu, said: “I’m delighted that three of our technicians have made it through to the 2025 Hyundai UK Skills Olympics, which is a celebration of technical excellence, innovation, and the very best of Hyundai’s aftersales talent.

“Jake’s achievement highlights not only his technical expertise but also his dedication to continuous improvement. He is a credit to Vertu, and I look forward to him progressing through our career development programme.”
