National Recognition For Sunderland Apprentice
Jason Kirtley, who is an Aftersales Apprentice Painter at the Vertu Accident Repair Centre in West Boldon, has been named as one of the top two BMW apprentices in the country.
Jason, who joined the Vertu Motors group in 2019, was runner-up in the BMW Apprentice of the Year awards, which were judged on evidence of his ongoing work submitted to BMW, despite the Covid pandemic delaying his progression. Jason is about to complete his final apprenticeship assessment this month.
Andrew Goodings, Vertu Accident Repair Centre Manager, said: “Developing our colleagues is key to a successful business, and apprenticeships play a huge role in this.
“Jason is a fantastic young man who has worked and learned diligently during the course of his apprenticeship and fully deserves this recognition.
“The pandemic interrupted his apprenticeship but he is now nearing the end and I am in no doubt he will go on to be a valued colleague at Vertu Motors.”
Jason Kirtley said: “The support I’ve had from Vertu has been amazing and I’m very grateful to Andrew and the team.
“Just to be nominated by BMW was brilliant but to be runner up out of all the apprentices is not something I thought would happen. I love my job and the training I have received is second to none. I am now looking forward to finishing my apprenticeship and continuing my career at Vertu Motors.”
