Vertu Launches Volkswagen Leeds Rent-A-Car As UK Rental Market Grows

Vertu has opened its third Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) Rent-A-Car operation at its Volkswagen Leeds dealership, expanding its rental offering in a sector worth billions and driven by demand for flexible mobility solutions.

The launch follows successful openings by Vertu, the UKs fourth largest automotive retailer, at Volkswagen Huddersfield and Volkswagen Nottingham South, as the UK car rental market continues to grow, fuelled by tourism, digital booking technology, and an increasing focus on electric and hybrid vehicles.

Claire Jones has been appointed to lead the new service at Leeds, and brings more than 30 years of experience in the vehicle rental industry to the role.

Claire previously worked as a multi-site location manager for another major rental company for a decade, overseeing operations at downtown branches, airport locations, and flagship sites such as London.

Claire said: Ive spent my career focused on delivering exceptional customer service and building strong teams, but have never experienced working in a main dealership in the past.

Bringing VWFS Rent-A-Car to Leeds is an exciting opportunity to combine my experience with a brand that customers trust in a new environment in one of the biggest cities in the UK.

Were ready to make renting a Volkswagen simple, convenient, and enjoyable for the people of Leeds and the wider area.

Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu Motors plc, added: Claire brings a wealth of experience and leadership to this new venture. The rental market is evolving rapidly, and our partnership with VWFS allows us to meet that demand head-on.

Leeds is a key location for us, and this launch reflects our commitment to offering customers more choice and modern mobility solutions.
