Vertu Test Drive Raises More Than £2,000 For Bolton Wanderers In The Community

A charity initiative from Vertu Ford Bolton has helped raise nearly £2,500 for Bolton Wanderers in the Community (BWitC), the official Football Club Charity for BWFC.
Vertu Ford Bolton has raised £2,340 for the charity after hosting a successful ‘Ford Drive 4 UR Community’ event at the Toughsheet Community Stadium, which saw £30 donated by Ford for each of the 78 test drives that took place on the day.
The funds have been donated to the official Football Club Charity and will support a wide range of programmes aimed at improving health, education, and inclusion across Bolton.
The initiative, part of Ford’s national Drive 4 UR Community scheme, saw Vertu Ford Bolton bring a selection of vehicles to the stadium, giving fans and visitors the opportunity to get behind the wheel while supporting the important local cause.
The initiative has raised millions globally for schools, charities, and grassroots organisations.
Christopher Armstrong, General Manager at Vertu Ford Bolton, said: “There was a real buzz around the stadium, and it was brilliant to see people getting involved - not just to try out the cars, but because they understood the impact their test drive could have. It’s rewarding to know that something as simple as getting behind the wheel can help fund vital work in our town.”
Ben Lawton, CEO at Bolton Wanderers in the Community, said: “Support from organisations such as Vertu Ford Bolton helps us reach more people and deliver programmes that tackle real issues in our town. Innovative events like Drive 4 UR Community help us widen awareness and talk about our work to the wider community.
“Every pound makes a difference to our charity, ensuring we continue to meet the ever-growing, ever-changing needs of our town. We’re grateful to Vertu Ford Bolton and Ford UK for backing our work in such a practical and visible way.”
