Vertu Toyota Ayr Clinches Scotland's Business Awards Accolade

Vertu Toyota Ayr has been named Best Motor Dealer in Scotland at the Scotland’s Business Awards ceremony - a remarkable achievement just one year after opening.

The dealership, located on Heathfield Road, was nominated by a customer and invited to the regional ceremony in Kilmarnock, where it won the top prize for the Ayrshire and Dumfries area.

That success led to a place at the national finals in Glasgow, where the team took home the prize.

The Scotland’s Business Awards are unique in that businesses can only be entered via customer nomination. Finalists are evaluated through mystery shopping visits, site inspections, and customer voting, with scoring based on visibility, accessibility, and customer service.

The Ayr site opened in 2024 under the Macklin Motors brand before transitioning to Vertu Toyota Ayr, part of AM100 plc Vertu Motors, earlier this year.

The £5 million facility includes a modern showroom, MOT and servicing area, and employs 27 people.

Angus Mclelland, General Manager at Vertu Toyota Ayr, said: "We’ve worked incredibly hard to build something special here in Ayr, and this award is a real testament to the team’s dedication. From day one, we’ve focused on making every customer feel valued, and to be recognised on a national stage is hugely rewarding.”

Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu Motors, added: "This win is a clear reflection of the standards we set across our dealerships, but to have won such a prestigious award just twelve months after opening is remarkable.

“Vertu Toyota Ayr is an important site in our Scottish network, and the team’s commitment to delivering exceptional service is evident in the feedback from customers and the recognition from the Scotland’s Business Awards."
