Yeovil Man Wins Vertu Mastermind Competition After Dramatic Tie Break

Adam South, a Sales Executive at Vertu Yeovil MINI, has been crowned the 2025 Vertu Sales Mastermind champion following a tense and closely fought final in Exeter.

The competition brought together twelve of the highest-performing sales professionals from across Vertu’s UK network of nearly 200 dealerships, with contestants being challenged on their knowledge of car manufacturers and the wider motor industry.

After two rounds of tough questions, the scoreboard revealed a dramatic three-way tie, setting the stage for a nail-biting tie-break.

Adam edged ahead of Ben Walne from Vertu Toyota Chesterfield and George Maunder from Vertu Peugeot Launceston to take the title.

As the new Vertu Mastermind champion, Adam secured the £1,000 top prize to celebrate his success with colleagues at Vertu Yeovil Mini.

Hosted in front of the full Vertu Leadership Committee, the final added extra pressure to an already high-stakes event.

Questions were delivered by Sales Director Steve Rowe, who channelled the spirit of quizmasters Magnus Magnusson and Clive Myrie.

Robert Forrester, Chief Executive at Vertu, said: "This competition is a celebration of the talent and expertise we have across the business. Adam demonstrated not only exceptional knowledge, but also the composure and confidence that define great salespeople. It was a superb final, and every contestant should be proud of their performance."

Adam South, Sales Executive at Vertu Yeovil MINI and Vertu’s reigning Mastermind champion, said: "It was an intense, but brilliant experience. The questions really tested us, and standing in front of all of the top team at Vertu really added to the pressure.

“I’m thrilled to have won, but the best part was representing Yeovil MINI and sharing the moment with my colleagues, as well as my operations director Anthony Masterson. We’ll definitely be putting the prize money towards a proper team celebration!”
